Dearest Father of Most Venerable Bhante Akurala Samitha passed away on Thursday 27th January 2022 after being lived upto 93 years of age!
Funeral Ceremony took place on Saturday 29th January 2022 at 2.30PM (Sri Lankan Time) and 9AM (UK Time).
Thank you All for supporting my father's welfare over the life and especially during the last few days in his life with blessings and also participating the funeral ceremony. All your contributions in solidarity and affection are greatly and deeply appreciated to share the merits in his journey towards the liberation, ever lasting happiness.!

Eulogy
It is with great sadness, we read the message about the passing away of Mr Siripala De Silva, at the ripe old age of 92, in Sri-Lanka. He was the much loved father of the Most Venerable Akurala Samitha Nayaka Thera, the Head of Letchworth Dhamma Nikethanaya Buddhist Centre and the Head of Milton Keynes Buddhist Vihara, in the United Kingdom. The mother of our Nayaka Thera passed away 6 years ago, and the Nayaka Thera had the good fortune of spending time with his parents, when they visited the United Kingdom. We should not mourn the loss his parents, as they are worthy of great celebrations for many reasons. The foremost is for giving Buddhism and us, a son of the calibre of our Nayaka Thera, who is rendering an outstanding contribution to Buddhism in general, and serving a large community of Buddhist devotees in the United Kingdom, in particular.
We are born only to die and the interim is an illusion. ‘Decay is inherent in all compound things’, said the Buddha and as we are engaged in a losing battle to protect a decaying physical body, it can only bring us suffering.
May Mr Siripala De Silva be reborn in a place where he will be able to purify his mind to attain the supreme bliss of Nirvana. By Mr Madawala Hemananda
